I don't have anything to compare it to, although I've seen a lot of people say that the old recipe was better- to me, this tastes like baby powder, or the smell of it. It's sweet, but not in a nice way. Giving it 2 stars because it is as effective as any other Burt's Bees Lip Balm.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed in new formula The formula change was a bad idea. I had this lip balm years ago. I loved how it smelled like honey and I enjoyed the waxy texture. Bought it recently at CVS because I can’t find my old tube and it doesn’t smell or feel like it used to at all. A lot of reviews say it smells like urine and I totally get that. The texture is now alot thinner and oiler as well. I’m really upset 😔

I prefer a natural finish especially on men for photoshoots, a shiny lip looks feminine. No one has ever complained about the honey scent which I’m grateful for. Because this isn’t a shiny lip balm and a tad more waxy it lasts longer which is great! 10/10
